Guess i am missing something....why would you ever need an imperial end mill if you already had metric collets and you could buy metric cutters. Its a milling machine..just move the tool to make the cut the size you need . If it is a case that you can't easily buy metric tools, then the choice is pretty simple..got to change the collets.

This cuts down on rigidity and Z space. Good cheap R8's are available for any standard size endmill shank within it's range.
